Jennifer was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and raised on a small family farm in rural Iowa. She works at Rockford University for an organization that supports and provides training for nonprofit organizations in northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. She enjoys baking, cats, and comedy podcasts. She loves living in a mid-sized city and learning about the curious workings of urban spaces, but also finding ways to ensure that every person who calls Rockford home can experience all the best that a city has to offer.
Michael was born and raised in Loves Park and Rockford, Illinois, and has been the youth director at Kishwaukee Presbyterian church since 2006. He enjoys photographing old buildings and drinking coffee. One of his recent passions is learning about and applying the principles of new urbanism, a passion that led him to gather a group of like-minded Rockfordians who worked to save the limestone entrance to a historic factory that had burned to the ground (learn more about that project here!).
